The S in Panasonic S-series stands for: Smart. Stylish. Simple. So if you’re looking for point-and-shoot simplicity in a great little performer you can’t go past the Panasonic Lumix DMC-S3. Its rounded form factor fits snugly in the palm of your hand delivering beautiful shots thanks to its high-resolution 14 megapixel sensor and 4x optical zoom lens. Capture landscapes, group scenes or tight interior shots with its 28mm wide-angle setting. Intelligent Auto automatically adjusts for the ideal settings, even when the conditions change, meaning you don’t have to fiddle around in menus to get the best shots. Optical Image Stabilisation plus Motion Detection helps you to get sharp shots and to top it all off the S1 also captures HD movies.

Movie Feature – captures High Definition video with audio up to 1280 x 720p resolution at 30 frames per second. Optical zoom functions during video recording. Easily upload HD videos to YouTubeTM  using the supplied software. The length of recording time depends on the capacity of the SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card*. (Up to the equivalent of 2 GB per video recording.)

* We recommend using Class 6 or higher memory cards for HD video recording.
SDHC Memory Cards and SDXC Memory Cards can be used only in equipment that is compatible with their respective formats.

confused.JPG What are the features and how will they benefit you?

Optical Image Stabilisation –works to counteract blurred images due to shaky hands, or when shooting in low-light conditions.

Intelligent ISO control - can detect subject movement and adjust sensitivity and shutter speed automatically to capture images without motion blur.

Lumix 28mm Wide-Angle 4x Optical Zoom Lens – cover a wide range of shooting situations from wide-angle to capture more in your image, to telephoto where you can zoom up close to distant objects.

Intelligent Auto Automatically adjusts your camera for a range of different shooting situations and includes such features as face detection, intelligent scene selection, intelligent ISO, and digital red-eye correction - get great shots without having to fiddle around with menus, modes etc.

Intelligent Scene Selector - in iA Mode, the Intelligent Scene Selector automatically sets the Scene Mode to one of Scenery, Portrait, Macro, Night Portrait*1, Night Scenery or Sunset.

Face Detection AF/AE - detects faces and automatically optimises the focus and exposure settings. It prevents blurry faces that happen when the camera focuses on something in front of or behind the subject, and keeps faces from appearing dark when shooting indoors or against a light source. Face tracking will keep focus on moving subjects. Also includes auto flash adjustment for more natural-looking portaits.

Auto Backlight Compensation - When there is strong backlighting, the background appears nice and bright, but the subject is dark. This function detects backlight condition and compensates it automatically.

Quick AF/Sonic Speed AF - dramatically reduces the shutter delay time and lets you take images quickly. Its super-fast focus is ideal for capturing quick images of active children and pets.

Shutter Lag - shutter release time lag is as short as approx. 0.007 second, making it easy to capture sudden, spur-of-the-moment photo opportunities.

Extended Battery Life – expect to get around 250 shots from the supplied rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery.

Unlimited Consecutive Shooting - lets you snap off consecutive shots until the memory card is full.

2.7” 230K LCD Screen – The big screen reflects fine details, making it easy to check the focus before shooting. It also serves as a small photo and video viewer, allowing the user and friends to enjoy viewing the still and motion images together.

Panorama Assist Mode - This is a handy function for aligning panorama photos using the included software

Slideshows With Music - you can create great slideshows with a variety of slide transition effects and matching music.

Date Stamp – Prints the date on your photos.

Viera HDTV - You can enjoy slideshows of photos taken with the LUMIX in stunning HD quality by inserting an SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Card in to the SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot in your VIERA HDTV (VIERA Image Viewer).
